I need to customize it and, darned if I can find it.  Things are sooo much different with 2.0 from 1.xx

Welcome message? Can you please define what you mean by welcome message?

The welcome message a new registrant receives after being accepted for membership.  Is there another welcome message I don't know about?

Sounds like a mod you installed when you had SMF 1.1.x. this one maybe? It's not compatible with SMF 2.0 however...

It was a mod in v1.xx.  Now, it's not.  It's there, or I'm going crazy.

When you manually accept a registration, there is a drop-down which gives you the options to accept, accept and send e-mail, reject, or reject and send e-mail.

When I accept a registration, I always choose:  accept and send e-mail.  I even get replies to the e-mail that is sent.  So, it must be real and the text for this must be somewhere.

The strings are in /Themes/default/languages/EmailTemplates.english.php

Thank you very much, doughboy99!  I knew I wasn't just dreaming all this.   :D

One more question:  Where do I find the text string used in {REGARDS} ?

tyty1234

I believe that is a variable that is replaced with php to include a regards message, i think.

Please attach your /Themes/default/languages/EmailTemplates.english.php file.

Yeah, this is different.  The file description says:  "// Do not translate anything that is between {}, they are used as replacement variables and MUST remain exactly how they are."

I believe the actual e-mail sent says:  "Regards, The (website name) team."  Or something very close to that.

It's no biggie, I just wanted to put my name and title there instead of..." The... team. "

Please attend to the critical issues of the masses.  I think that others may want to be able to customize the welcome, etc. emails if and until the v1.x mod ever gets updated.

I'm marking the main question solved.

template file attached.

No doubt, you folks are the best.  Thanks again!

Lol, if you want the job done, don't mark it solved ;)  It takes this topic off of the support list.  We will take a look at it.

Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Found it and modified it.  It would be nice if the old v1.xx mod was up to 2.0 RC1-2.  It was great to be able to compose a welcome message just like a message post!
Thanks for the reminder.

I marked the topic solved
