Menu buttons vanishing?!?

Ok, so in my forum I have the buttons "Home" "Help" "Search" etc but some of my members have noticed that they dis-appear sometimes and don't come back    I have seen this too (not every time mind you) - it seems as though there is something blocking the buttons being displayed as the links are still there, just not the buttons....

It's a great theme nevertheless and I would love it if some CSS, PHP boffin could enlighten me, thanks.

It's probably thier browser, since sometimes those hover over's can not work properly.

If anyone else has any other theories please let me know. Also, if there is a way to fix this issue (i.e: change how the .gifs are displayed) please could you also let me know.

Could you show what buttons are supposed to be there that you are talking about? On the Hendrix I have on my test site ( http://miraenda.com ) and on yours at the top, there are just links not buttons for those options, unless I'm missing some buttons displaying or something... Or, unless what I am calling text links you consider to be buttons that highlight as your cursor passes over them.

yea, when I say buttons I mean the .gif(on) and .gif(off) graphics that are displayed under the logo... 'scuse my noobiness

No need for apologies, as I just wanted to verify what is what exactly.  So when you mention they disappear, do you mean they don't highlight or that the text doesn't display up at the top at all for the .gif(or) or .gif(off) even though the links still exist if you click up there?

When the graphics disappear it's as if there is a problem displaying them and if you look in the status bar at the bottom of the browser it will show "Downloading home.gif..." or something similar. Then when you mouse over them instead of them switching to highlight graphic, they actually vanish 

It isn't happening very often or spoiling the forum or the theme (which are excellent) it's just a bit ermmm... messy (?).
