Add one custom link to menu bar?

Hope this is the correct place to post; I did search but came up empty-handed...

How to add a new tab with a custom link to the menu bar? I'm not looking for a mod, just the way to do the edit to subs.php(?)...

There is a MOD that adds a tab to the menu bar for your website home page.
Perhaps you could change the code for that.

Yes, I saw it (if you're referring to this) but I feel a whole mod, with its own settings etc is a bit of an overkill for something so small and simple. What I don't know is how exactly to input my url in the code; this mod uses variables, so it doesn't give any hints as to how to do a hard-coded one.
