Hi Guys

Ive searched the forum & members are having similar problems but not the same as mine

Im hoping you guys can help

Evertime my members & even myself use a stored password login windows or firefox this always results in a password incorrect error but if you manually enter the same password in goes through ok

Im puzzled as it can be a IE problem because fire fox does the same & its not a redirect error i dont think because they both get directed to the www. addy

Here's the error i get in the error log

At which point are you saving the password? I have used the feature in both IE and use it now in FF and have never had a problem with it.

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply

Ive got stored passwords set to on in my browser as others have so when i go to a site enter my username & password the IE/firefox flashes up would you like to save username & password
so when you go back to that site you start typing your username & it fills in the rest for you

Ive even tried clearing these & entering them again just in case i entered them wrong the first time but still no joy

Not wishing to hijack this thread, but I'm having the exact same issues with my site as welshbikers.

Think it started when I upgraded to 1.1.10 on the day it was released.   Not all my members suffer from this but quite a few do, and me too.  If I stay logged in it's not a problem coming back to the site, but if I log out, start to type my user name it auto fills the boxes for me, but I'll get the incorrect password error.  Clear the box and type it in again and all's fine.

My error log shows quite a few messages like this,

That's in addition to these other problems I mentioned Here

Try Googling "stored browser password never works" and you will see lots of reasons/fixes.  This is not something that is SMF related or all your users would be experiencing it.
