Requiring user to register and login prior to reading content of the website

I run a website that has free article.  Is there any way we can protect the content so visitor has to register prior to reading the artcle?  I see people done it with vbulletin... how do we do it with smf?

admin ->  Features and Options -> Allow guests to browse the forum (uncheck this)

Also, if you are talking about the website itself (not the forum), then search for SSI here. If you include SSI on any page on your site you can use SMF to validate whether the user is a guest or not.
