hi,

i was using some smf 2 beta version and i wanted to move to 2.0 rc2 so. i created backup of my database through phpmyadmin and i deleted all forum files from server. now i installed fresh smf2 rs2 but i have problems to restore my old database. if i just edit settings.php and enter old database info it wont work. i tried to get it done by using repair_settings.php it still wont work. is it maybe that old database is not supported by new version of forum? i searched but i can't find solution for this... i hope someone can help me with this.

thank you

That is correct. Since you didn't upgrade the database, it will not work with your smf 2.0 RC2 files. Why didn't you just use the large upgrade package to upgrade your forum to rc2? You're going to have to run update.php one way or another...

i did it without thinking... but how i can now upgrade my database?

assuming you used repair_settings.php to point your new install to the old database, upload upgrade.php and upgrade_2-0_mysql.sql to your install directory from the large upagrade package, then point your browser to ./upgrade.php

i can't fix my database.. :( i can upload it if anyone is willing to do an upgrade for me...

If you want, you can pm me with details to access phpMyAdmin and ftp, and I will do it tomorrow as soon as I get out of school (is going to bed now) Alternatively, you can ask in this board for someone to do it for you:

Good luck ^^
