Is there anyway SimpleMachines.org could use the Auto-merge Double Post mod or something similar?

I find it somewhat annoying to check replies to my posts and it have be someone just double (sometimes triple) posting. It also makes the Support tracker harder to follow since I usually reverse-sort by either date last posted on or number of replies.

Since it has permissions, the Team or someone with stickied guides could be exempt since those sometimes use more than one post for organization and convenience for linking.

A couple of times is fine, but when it happens multiple times every day, it looks like people are either A) being impatient for support or B) boosting their post count. Not everyone that does it does it for those reasons, but that is the way I understand the reasoning of many that do this.

Thanks for reading.

(Also, sorry if this has been suggested before.)

Personally, I think that'd be a nice feature to have here.

Well, it hasn't been updated for 2.0 RC2. Plus any mods that get added here get re-vetted by other folks (like the Project Support folks and/or Dev team) not just Customizers.

Ultimately though, we deliberately try and keep this forum as close to vanilla as possible, so that this showcases SMF with as few changes as possible - topic solved plus the enhanced search dropdown are about it for publicly visible changes.

Sig permissions as well ;)

No direct links unless their post count is high enough

Those are 2 others i can think of off the top of my head.
"The Book of Arantor, 17:3-5
And I said unto him, thy database query shalt always be sent by the messenger of $smcFunc
And $smcFunc shall protect you against injections and evil
And so it came to pass that mysql_query was declared deprecated and even though he says he is not
dead yet, the time was soon to come to pass when mysql_query shall be gone and no more

What about them? Users under 10 posts can't set a signature, what else would you need here? Is already a core feature anyway; it's just permissions.

That's been implemented here a while. I do have the mod code just not the time to polish it up for release.

It's fine...
If people would just post their WHOLE reply and edit in other details instead of making more posts when they think of details and/or observe the 24 hour bumping rule, this wouldn't be a problem.
