Members here under a certain post count cannot post links, they are changed to hxxp:www.blahblahblah.com

BUT... (there is always a but)
if you go to the member's profile and click view posts, it shows the full (clickable) link. Not sure if that is a bug....

Members posts pages are not indexed in search engines so there is no worry. However, it could be fixed later on, but it's not a pressing issue ;)

Yes, no backlinks for spammers is a plus.... But I assumed the primary intention was to prevent a possibly hostile site from being clicked on by members.

JBlaze

The intent was to prevent backlinks and remove the incentive for spammers to spam here.

The mod in question is for here only (ATM) so it's not an SMF bug.

It is noted that it doesn't display that in the post history but as JBlaze says the idea was to prevent spammers from getting active links - since on a typical forum, profiles are hidden from guests, it does the job just fine.

This should either be moved to Site Comments, or merged with the relevant mod support thread somehow.
