Mod-N-Theme Stats

Just wondering how this works exactly as is always baffles me when a Mod or theme that hasn't be updated or commented on in AGES makes it in the top? This also happens sometimes when a brand new Mod (especially theme) is released. It's out for less that 24 hrs and it's already rated #1?

How does this system work? Just curious?

Oh yeah and how you you rate mods and themes anyway? I've Been meaning to ask that for a cpl years now LOL

It's based on the number of downloads since its release.

Since 2004, it's had nearly 49,000 downloads.

That would make sense but Top Rated doesn't match most downloaded and on the Themes many times a Theme is out for less that 24hrs and already rated #1. How do Themes and Mods get Rated?

They don't any more. Rating used to be an option on the mod/theme site but what tended to happen was that mods got downrated because of installation problems even though it was nothing to do with the mod author (e.g. mod conflicts, custom themes etc etc)

Popularity/Scores of mods/themes are download counts per day during the last 7 days. So it's possible that that mod was downloaded more than others during the last week.

Ahhhh making a lot more sense now LOL. Was just trying to figure out the method to the madness.

rating was also removed as more popular users were using there sources to give that customization full marks, and customizations where being marked on who made it not what the design/mod was worth.
