Trying to make it so newcomers can only see two boards:

I created a new account with 0 posts but I can still see all boards.  Am I doing something wrong?

Using 2.0 RC3.  Thanks for any help.

Arantor

Can Regular Members see those two boards too?

Users are implicitly "Regular Members" as well as their post count group.

Regular members can see those two boards, everyone should be able to see them.

Trying to make it so people with post counts under 3 can ONLY see those two.

Thanks for your quick response Arantor.

Can you help navigate me on how to check what access regular members have?  I'm at Members > Permissions and see Regular Members with a "Modify" link next to it and drop downs at the bottom.  I have to admit I'm confused as to where to alter their access.

You'll need to make it so regular members cannot view any boards but those two.

Admin > Forum > Boards > Modify Boards.  You should uncheck the box for 'Regular Member' under each.  This will hide all those boards from anyone who is simply registered on your forum and hasn't obtained additional permissions under another member group.

Then you'll need to make the additional boards visible to members with more than x amount of posts.  Create another member group.  Call it anything you like, but make it post based.  Set the limit you want for that group, and then make sure that member group is able to view all the boards you desire.

I think that will achieve what you are after.  There may be an easier way to do it, but this late at night I can't think of what it would be.

Thanks for the help guys. Of course after I figured it out now it all makes sense. :)

Had to go to Admin > Forum > Boards > Modify Boards.  Then click MODIFY next to each one (other than the two I wanted to be full access) and make sure "Regular Memebers" was unchecked.  Unfortunately there is no batch function here that I can control from a single page so it gets cumbersome after your board count grows.

Thanks again!

Sorry I should have specified hitting 'modify' on each of the boards excluding the ones you wanted to remain visible.  I'm new at trying to help out and I forgot that part might not be apparent at first glance.

I'm glad you got it working.
