posts upside down?

not literally but they are shown with the latest first in a topic.
is this something i have done or do i need to tick a hidden box somewhere?

Per-User basis
Profile > Look and layout preferences
Show most recent personal messages at top
Checking this will show the most recent personal messages on the top, and they will go down as they get older and older.

By default for all users
Admin > Current Theme > Reset Options
You have to do this for both of these links.
Reset default (guest) options for this theme
Reset all member's current options for this theme

Thanks for that - it was actually the forum topics and boards not the PM's that were in the wrong order but showed me where to sort loads of other things from.
