Avatar Directory...

I know about using things like $avatardir, but would there be an easy way to add a file into EVERY avatar directory (eg. /Actors /Musicians...)?

No, there isn't, at least not through the package-info.xml file.

You could, conceivably, do something with a custom install.php file but really, there would have to be an AWESOME reason to do this.

Well, I was just thinking about making a simple "Random Avatar" mod which people keep requesting for, wanted to see if there was an easy way around it...

There isn't a particularly easy way around it, nor a graceful one. And if you try it from install.php you'll likely have a plethora of permissions issues to deal with for support.
