I have this website with the word Justiça in its name.

Problem is the ç character is not being well displayed.

I attach an example of the problem.

Thanks for any help.

I solved the problem by editing the site name and replacing the ç with ç and now the name is displayed well across the board.

By the way, I installed this via Softaculous (cPanel). I'm not sure if you'd like to produce a fix to this, or think it's Softaculous' issue...

In any case, I tried first with the hex version of ç (ç) and it worked fine across the board; only the ç has the issue reported with the image I attached in the previous message.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

So you used the code "ç" instead of write Ç?
Then I think that the one you said was okay is the only one wrong... :)

Glad you solved the issue. ;)

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D

Maybe the problem came when he converted to UTF-8..

Thanks Emanuele

Live627 no, as far as I can understand, everything is working in ISO-8859-1, not UTF-8

UTF-8 doesn't have any issues displaying non cyrillic (I may not be using the correct term here) characters.  You should consider converting to UTF-8 via Site Maintenance if you're going to use non standard letters.

I like UTF-8, will gladly do that if you please point me in the right direction (couldn't find it on my own)

You can do it using the SMF admin panel (make complete backup of database before running the task)

Administration Center » Forum Maintenance » Database -- Convert the database and data to UTF-8 (Run this task)

Moreover, not able to reproduce this. Moving the topic to fixed/bogus bug board.
