Looks like the Paid Subscriptions does not activate the subscription on a members account after they have done a PayPal payment. This needs to be done manually by admin of the form

This has always worked fine for me, have you made sure the IPN is set up correctly on PayPals side?
The link to those settings can be found from the admin panel where all the other subscriptions settings are as well.

Yes and it is not only on my site I did a subscription here http://portamx.com/forum/ and asked why it had not activated my subscription and got the same reply

The thing is - it could very well be fixed on RC4, while I know there were some changes in between those versions regarding the subscriptions.

Oh man I don't want to go to RC4 until it has been running for some time. I was also just thinking of skipping RC4 completely lol. If we could verify it has been fixed on RC4 I suppose I will have to upgrade  :P  ;D

Hey Dirt thanks for the post on this subject
if true for all with rc3 then this would effect us (we moved from 1.x to 2.x )something more to look forward too.

yea i two would like a user that knows the answer to post if rc4 in fact will fix this bug if in fact rc3 has a bug with upgrading paid subs. Dirt i bet RC4 is just new to use but i bet they been working with RC4 for a min and know should know its stable enough to release.

so if some one does have rc4 installed and paid subs could you help us out by creating a paid sub for $1 pay it and see if it upgrades your group right?

that would help us know what to do next.
thanks guys

DirtRider

If it is fixed in RC4 I suppose I will upgrade straight off. The problem with this setup it will not allow you to actually test it on your own PayPal account you have to wait for some one to actually use it to find out if it works.  :P

It is good to take in to account the fact that .12 and RC4 were also security releases, so never hurts to keep up with them ;)

Yeah I know I just like to leave it a few weeks to see what other issue may crop up. However I think I will upgrade my one site today and then look at my second site later

DirtRider did this fix the issue?

I have not got around to upgrading as yet but lets mark this as solved and if it does not work I will open it up again
