Translate images/buttons

Hey guys, i'm really really sorry to bother you. I downloaded faux apple theme and i loved it! I'm super new to SMF. Can you tell me how do i "translate" the images that are in the "english" folder? I'm Brazilian, and i would like to use portuguese in my forum, but when i chose my language to portuguese those buttons stop showing. How can i make they show up again? I know  that i'm supposed to use those blank buttons, but i don't know where to place them, for them to show up. (i tried to create a folder "portuguese_brazilian" inside the "images" folder, but they still don't show)

thank you for the spam protection link... I already had translated, but the images were not showing up. Now they are (i guess it was the then cache)
