Mod name?

I'm opening a community and decided to use SMF 2 RC4, now im having dificulies in finding the perfect theme for the site but ill find one sometime...My site is here hxxp:badazztees.com [nonactive] and by the url its a community for people who currently own or are thinking of getting into the t-shirt industry.
My main problem is when you go to the site it pops up, forums and all as set when i instlled it. Is their a mod or something that will create a front page for like news announcements.Something similar to phpnuke or like VB advance? I really dont want to use VB and refuse to use phpnuke for this kind of site so if possible could someone tell me the name and were to get it if it exists?...thanks for your help.
