Biology Forums

Hi!

I recently bridged my smf (1.1.12) with wikimedia. All went well and I installed in the same folder as the public_html of my smf, so:
public_html/definitions (definitions is the folder I installed it). I find, however, that the wikimedia is slow overall. Like it's not instant when you go on it. My wikimedia shares the same database as the smf by the way.

Any advice on how to make it fast or whether I should create a subdomain instead of on the same domain (i.e. wiki.biology-forums.com)??

Here is my site by the way:

www.biology-forums.com

this is most likely dependent on your server and its configuration as well as how many people are using the site at one time. can you list the specifications of your server?

Hello everyone,

I hate wikimedia to start. :) And I know this is the wrong forum, but I don't know where to go!

How do I add an EDIT THIS PAGE link on the main template?

I know the link is:

http://biology-forums.com/definitions/index.php?title=PAGENAME&action=edit

for instance: http://biology-forums.com/definitions/index.php?title=Main_page&action=edit is for the home page.

But how do I add a link where it's universal for the current page the user is on? ???

you should try a support forum for mediawiki, or try googling the issue. you might not get much help here as this forum is not a support forum for mediawiki.
