Need help

So i'm trying to install this mod that is supported by my current version. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse

I'm having a hard installing, I'm not really sure what i should be doing. I have custom templates that are said to support 1.1.13 and i can't find any of the files it tells me to edit. I'm hoping someone could help me as i've been searching the FAQs and see things about FTP and even that is confusing me.

Some more details regarding your issue would be extremely helpful, specifically which mod and what theme you're using.
