This is a simple modification that changes on main board index, Child Boards to Sub-Boards.

Well, it was mainly made because I run several forums, and also help people set up forums, and myself and most of the people I set forums up for wanted it to say Sub-Boards. So, instead of having to keep going in manually, I decided to just make the mod. Then, seeing how many other people ask how to do it, I submitted the mod.

All you have to do is change the language file.
It might work on 2.0 the way it is.

How do I change the language file if I want to try that to see if the mod works on 1.1.10?

It will work on 1.1.10, infact the edit is easier than uploading the mod.  Open ./Themes/default/index.english.php
Search for "Child Boards" and replace it with "Sub-Boards" or whatever you like.

Great Forums, thx for sharing & your input.

I am a Super Pre-Me NEWBIE.  This is all new to me.  I have to loo0k up definitions of simple words, but I am learning quickly. I have reviewed the help/ the forum...
This is my first Mod so I am also paranoid.
I see I can replace 'Child Boards' with 'Sub Boards' w/ ver 1.1.10 & that it is EZ.
How do I open? ( ./Themes/default/index.english.php ) then do I replace childboard Once, or three times as noted in download?

Mod author hasn't been online for 2 years but you can do what this mod changes relatively easily

In 2.0 Curve default theme go to the languages folder and in index.english.php

find

change to

Code Select Expand


$txt['parent_boards'] = 'Sub Boards';

or

Code Select Expand


$txt['parent_boards'] = 'Sub-Boards';

Depending on whether you want it hyphenated or not

Remember to clear the file cache in admin panel once you make the change to show the new language string
