Membergroup specific Signature Pic & Avatar permissions needeed

Hi!

I'm a newbie to SMF and this forum. i tried to search for the feature of Membergroup specific signature pic permissions - i want to be able to allow sig pics for specific member groups, but not others.

i tried search, and didn't find that solution.

I also tried the signaturelimits1-0.zip mod, but that didn't appear to have the feature - or did I miss it.

No can do with that mod. Maybe someone will be able to create it but I can't think of a way...

In the mean-time you can disable allowing editing of the additional profile settings with for the newbie membergroup. That is a step that I regret having had to take but took anyhow just to prevent people from joining just abuse it.

My method was a bit extreme. The "newbie" membergroup really should be considered a "probationary membergroup" at my forum. Until they hit ten posts they pretty much haven't any access to anything other than to read PMs, create topics, respond to topics, and that's about it. They can't even post URLs, well they can but they won't work.

I also meant to ask about a similar thing for avatars, different sizes for different membergoups,

these two options were wildly popular on a large forum i belonged to, people paid for the added priviliges of larger avatars, and sig pics via a supporting member program.

If anyone can help with these two requests, I'd sure appreciate it - they'd be hugely appreciated on my forum.

Are these two mods just not possible, I'll be so sad...

maybe I should clarify what I want to do in case there is another work around...

1) I want supporting membergroup to ba able to upload larger avatars than regular members (IOW, all groups can upload avatars, but supporting membergroup can upload a larger pic - dimenions are larger)

2) I want to be able for supporting membergroup to be able to use sig pics, but all other groups would not be able to.

I'll keep hoping there is a solution out there, thanks!!!

Bumping is certainly allowed though frowned on if it is done too often. In my opinion that wasn't too often. See? This bumped it again.

I would see if there is a way to convert it (if it does what you want) to 1.1.1 and, if so, then do two things. Use it and, well, contact the mod author to see if they will take a look at your changes.

Notta a bad suggestion looking at modding the existing mod... I'm minimally capable, so I'll have a look at it - but doubt I can make it happen without some other's help....

Can I ask one important question - is it possible to manually set two membergroup's permissions in regard to uploading avatars. I'd like to be able to set a supporting membergroup to a larger avatar than the regular members. Can I set these manually?
