How to create an email list from SMF

Hi folks, I have done multiple searches and still cannot find the answer.

We have a community forum with over 26K members, and would like to know if there is a way to create an email list from our database. For some reason we cannot use the newsletter email option, as our service provider states that it is too hard on the server to keep up. We would eventually like to have a list, so we can send out mass emails without having to use SMF.

are you using the built in mail queue feature? that should help with the server load on sending the emails out.
