Is this on your forum? If it's not happening all the time (eg you can get to the forum sometimes), then it's probably a problem with your host.

kingster

is it possible to reinstall it, with the topics etc as there was in my old database?

- if so, how?...

the question that I have is ..... where does the  dns ip 127.0.0.1 come into play ? What file were you messing with, that you can remember ?

An upgrade to 1.1.14 and the repair settings file should fix this problem .... IMO

I am getting the localhost 127.0.0.1 error as well.  Are you hosting this site on your own computer, or are you using a regular hosting service?

kingster

thanks for the quick replys guys.

im hosting at www.hosting24.com [nofollow]

so, im not hosting on my own computer -> how can i upgrade and repair it?

thx

busterone

Try repair settings.php first to see if the urls and paths can be corrected before upgrading.
What is repair_settings.php?

kingster

ill try to download repair_settings.php, upload it and run it.. ill come back to you asap

kingster

done -> now it wont even enter the website...

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/raidespo/public_html/Settings.php on line 51

kingster

and when i fixed that it said :
Not Found

The requested URL /install.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

busterone

It appears that there may be something a bit screwy with your host.  Repair_settings.php should not cause anything to look for an install.php file.
Make a backup of settings.php and then look for Settings_bak.php and rename it to Settings.php   tp see if you can get your main index back.

Unknown column 'add_deny' in 'field list' - do u know what that means?

removed settings.php, and renamed the settings_bak.php to -> settings.php and it says ^

Sounds like a upgrade.php file is there. Try looking and if it is delete it.

kingster

the only "upgrade" file i can find is upgrade_1-0.sql and upgrade_1-1.sql

nothing called upgrade.php...

kingster, I had to get offline in a hurry last night, but I wanted to check back with you. I see that your forum is up and running.  What did you find out?

Looks like he's not using SMF anymore. The bottom of the site says, "Powered by PunBB"

busterone

Indeed it does. I didn't look very close before. I guess I should have.  :)
