Sorry  if this is in the wrong board  :' Admin please move if somewhere more suitable ( But Ive searched wiki and the manual and wondered if someone could answer the following before I upgrade....

Im currently using 1.1.15 and am thinking of upgrading to 2.0 mainly for the paid subsricption feature.

My site is currently a smf forum with TP added. The TP side is mainly used for articles which are fix it guides etc etc, and as such the whole site is not viewable by guests. All new memberships are manually approved by myself after checking the stop forum spam database, and that the custom fields mod installed info is entered correctly, Even with these measures out of 50 new registrations a day only 2 or 3 are approved to access the site, so my questions are ,

Can the site still be set so Guests cant view the site once subscriptions in enabled ?
Can you run more than one subsricption , Ie, Pay to join the site for a year, but then pay a small payment to access the fix it guides in TP as a one off download fee
Is it possible on install to give all current members a say 2 year free subscription, without having to going into each members profile ( May take a while to do 1200 members indivually)

ANy advice would be great thanks

TP says it's compatible with 2.0: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=97
Anything else I/someone else can help with?

There's a bug in paid subscriptions that prevents subs from activating if guest access is disallowed.  There's a simple fix that werks gud -

Members can subscribe to more than one subscription, so you can create different subs for different purposes, and set up your membergroups accordingly.

It may be possible to create an initial subscription for all members with a database query, but I wouldn't have a clue how to do it.

Is there an overide in the subsricption system..Example, If I want to give somebody a years free subsricption could I go into there profile and do that and then in a years time it would automaticly ask them to pay a subscription

You can manually set up a subscription for a member by accessing their profile in Admin -> Members.  Click on the username -> Paid Subscriptions -> Add (or Edit) Subscription.  I believe notifications are handled same as a paid subscription.
