List of topics on main page

Hello there,
we used to use Phorum in our community and the main thing our users loved was that when they typed the URL of the forum, they got right to the list of topics. We didn´t use categories, we just had two forums with different URLs.
My question is - would it be possible to do something like that with SMF? I mean, we have converted to SMF and they are quite happy with the possibilities, but they keep asking about this.

smf is based on boards and categories, so what you want by default cant be done.

This MOd is out of date, but it allowed a link so members could click and view the newest topics.

Well, thanks for the advice.
It would be sufficient to make a redirection from main page to http://forum.tld/index.php/board,1.0.html. Would that be possible?

i typed 'board redirect' in the MOD search page and this popped up first selection.
