Hey, I'm new to SMF forums so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I'd like to know if it is possible to have a mod which detects multiple posts per user in a topic.

Example:
A person posted a reply today, then after few days he posted another reply. Is it possible for me to know that this guy had posted a reply before without scrolling down on the topics replies on checking his posts?

I mean, something easy to reach, maybe a number 2 appears in his second post (means it's his second reply to that topic) or if he had triple posted then number 3 should appear..

I hope I could deliver my pov, thanks in advance!

Possible, yes I would expect so - but why? What good would that do?
I'd expect it to be quite expensive to recalculate that practically on every page load, for every post, for every user, because posts can be made, moved around, edited, deleted, approved and unapproved etc. etc.

If posts are moved/deleted then the count should decrease, ex: I made a post, then re-posted again. Then someone deleted my post, logically, my replies count should be 1 not 2. And, (we don't approve/disapprove posts).

So whole thing is, we just want to detect how many replies a user has posted in that topic.

It's helpful for us since we use some topics to make votings among our members.

It would be an expensive (in terms of resources)  query...   for an edge case that I can't see anyone else needing or wanting.

So why not make use of the poll feature?
