Let it be known that I looked around for a BBCode permission for a membergroups, and found nothing. I read that there WAS a mod for it, but not available for SMF 2.0

Anyhow, my forum was recently scouted out for some spammer to embed a flash file on a few pages and PMs with an auto redirect that opened up multiple pages, and a screamer. Cute. It wasn't really damaging. I just disabled the flash tag and simply removed his posts and IP banned him.

However, this made me realize that we're acceptable to further damage later on.

Considering the nature of the Forum and Community -- we're a flash group -- disallowing flash embedding is really the lesser popular choice. I would simply like to disallow flash tagging for the default, not-official membergroup I call "Talkie/Nublet"

They're both the same thing. But Nublet is the first sign up allow people to change their display names, if they feel they got a bad one, this is available for 5 hours on the site, then they go to talkie. Time based group.

Site:
http://soupsquad.com

Theme it's using:

Finally, the membergroups I want to disallow by Admin View:

See, these groups are really just considered unofficial members. Aside Basis, I think that's the catchall group. I dunno.

Official members are called Soups. Then there's trusted members, which are called Tasty Soups, things like that.

Any possibility?

I would recommend setting up some anti-spam mods and enable the registration verification question to a specific question for your forum. Have a look at the mod site for anti-spam options.

I'm sorry for the late response, I didn't think anybody would ever answer.

However, let me tell you that this would not help me.

The people who register here are actual people who would actually do this intentionally based upon knowledge of our group. In short, you could say this is a group vs group thing.

Any question we establish, they could find easy-peasy. We're a subgroup of a website called Newgrounds.com

Not to say our group attacks any other group. We're not aggressors.
