Private paid subscription

Hello,

On our club forum we have a set price for regular members and a half price subscription for regional organisers. I've set up a half price subscription that I want to only be visible to our regional organisers so I unchecked the active box and transferred the regional organisers over to the new half price subscription manually. When renewal time comes they aren't given the option to resubscribe using the half price option which I'm assuming is because the 'active' box isn't checked in the settings. Is there a way of allowing certain members to have different subscription options available to them or do I have to keep doing it manually?

There is no way to implement that in SMF without a fairly nasty set of code changes. I did actually figure out the changes almost 2 years ago but I've long since forgotten much about it, other than it's a complicated mess.

(Basically, what I did was set it up so that you could pick which groups could access which subscriptions, which would effectively give you that ability)

Yeah that's the functionality that I'm after. Maybe one for the mod requests?

It will be a mod request, but good luck getting it done for free, to be honest. It took me an entire day to implement it back then, and that was when I knew more about the paid subs system than I remember today

How about a workaround that makes specific subscriptions visible only to allowed groups in Profile -> Paid Subs?  Would be a one-off, but shouldn't be terribly difficult.

IIRC that's the simpler part of the problem, hiding things is relatively easy but you really need to back it up with permission checks.

* Arantor can't remember, suspects it'd be a pain to pull out of Wedge's changelog given how much change had already occurred by that time.

Sounds like the kind of thing that if you know it's there, and how to get to it, you can, but most users wouldn't know, since it's only visible to allowed members.

I'm going to ask the regional reps to subscribe using the full price and then I'll manually refund the difference until there's another way of doing it
