Advanced search not working

For some reason my advanced search link doesn't work! If I click on it nothing happens, no error messages or anything else....it just doesn't do anything

When I try it, it takes me to http://www.pchelpforum.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,80/action,search/advanced/ and I get asked to login, so it appears to be working for me (although I don't know why the "advanced search" link would even be there if I couldn't use it). It might be due to the search-engine-friendly URLs thing you've got enabled in Mambo though.

So, you think that if I dis-able search-engine friendly urls in my Mambo portal it could/should fix this?

You can use this account to test it:

It's the "/advanced/", which isn't being parsed correctly because of the Mambo bridge.

I have the same problem with my site www.livims.co.uk [nofollow].
When I try to search, nothing happens. Search engine friendly URL's are OFF on both mambo and SMF.
Is this a shortcoming of the bridge?

You mean the 404 error?  That is not bridge related:

http://livims.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=search;advanced;search=

Does the same thing, therefore it has nothing to do with the bridge.
