I updated the forum with the link in the admin panel and then went to simple portal and installed the newest update then I got an error unless u know what u r doing do not continue and I did :(

I broke the site so I decided to uninstall the Simpleportal and that broke so I unstalled the SimpleMachine update it has been wacky from then on I couldn't even access the site, I had someone make the site show up but the headers are broken I can't access the admin panel or anything without going through my internet history and can't even log out my security thingo is not working and am getting bots sign up :(

even the admin panel is messed up can someone help me please??

It should put you back to how you were, before you installed the portal.

I did a server back up on the siteworx, I just don't know how to restore it lol

and that link is a little to involved for me I might have to get someone to look at this for me, thanx for your reply :)

I also checked the error logs most of them say that there is a theme error on different pages could it be the theme and should I uninstall it??

Kindred

ok...   what was the previous version of your smf before you broke everything?

you can restore it fairly easily.
1- get the large upgrade package form the download site.
2- extract package on your local PC
3- upload all files
4- upload a clean copy of your custom theme
5- if things are still weird, download and use a copy of repair_settings.php

The steps above where a little above my head :( I am not sure what to do

The file is an archive (.zip or tar/gz)

Dearchive that file to a place that's empty, such as a new directory (folder) on your desktop.

Once dearchived, use FTP to upload all of the files in that directory (Not the directory, itself. Just the contents) to your site, overwriting what's there, now, EXCEPT Upgrade.php.

That, in effect, will put your forum back to it's virgin state, except that your mods will still be in Package manager. The mods'll just need to be reapplied.

In future, remember my sig, before you install ANY mods, woncha? ;)
