Also, did you look in the support threads for both those packages... your issues may have been reported (and resolved) before.

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

Shambles

Well, from the looks of it, the first package you're attempting to install is not compatible with your current version of SMF. The support topic for that mod is here - you might want to have a ganders in that (rather longish) topic to see if anyone has managed to squeeze the package in.

The second should work if you set the advanced options (during package installation) to emulate an earlier version of SMF. See this thread for further support of that modification. Emulation is set by hitting "Advanced" on the page that has "browse packages" on it, in your package manager, and entering "2.0" as the version.

MarkS

ive done the second one thanks

well this forum is 2.0.4 and has the mod installed or is it a different mod ?

Shambles

Well, if it's what I think you want, try navigating to

Admin > Configuration > Current Theme > Theme Settings

.. and place a tick in the box marked "Show group key on board index:"

MarkS

ok that shows [Administrator]  [Global Moderator]
i would like it to say  [Administrator]  [Global Moderator] [mod]  [ Member]  [and so on]

Kindred

neityher moderator nor member are real user groups.
moderators are only moderators when they are inside the board which they are ste to be the moderator of...
members is generic, catchall term for anyone who is not a member of another group.

And we don't use any membergroup or membergroup color mod on this forum.

For MemberGroup colors, This one installs clean, and makes no file changes

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3067

If you wanna do some tweaking with the membergroup legend on the home page, check out this MOD.

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1077

it is out of date, so may need to have some manual installations.  But it allows you to re-order, and remove groups from the Legend you don't want to display.

Also, to get a Moderator group in the Legend, just make a new "Moderator" group, and give it the same settings as the original Moderator group, and just use the new one ;)

Check my Legend on my site to see what I mean. http://www.smashdomain.net/
