hi, I just installed 2.0.4.  at the end of the instalation I got this message:

Your installation directory is still writable. It's a good idea to chmod it so that it is not writable for security reasons.
Click here to delete this install.php file now. (doesn't work on all servers.)

I checked to delete the install.php file - and it was deleted.

I got confused here, cause I do not see the installation directory when I list the directories in the public html  :o
Think globally, act locally

Kill Em All

All folders should be CHMOD to 755 and all files should be CHMOD to 644.
How do I chmod? / what is chmod?

If you installed it into the root of public_html, as I did, you won't.

You'll just see directories like "Smileys", "Attachments", "Themes", etc. :)

Or, have I misunderstood?

For permissions, going to Admin>Packages>File permissions and setting that to "Standard" will see you right. :)

yes, smf is installed in the root directory.
I see .smileys,  attachments.... and so on, they all have 755, thats ok, I will check the files too.

Admin>Packages>File permissions.

If you set that to "Standard", you won't go far wrong. :)
