Ignore category or board

Wouldn't it be a nice feature if you could choose to ignore an certain board or category (in the latter case, maybe let it coincide automatically with collapsing a category?) With ignoring i mean, that posts in the ignored boards or categories don't show up in your "Show unread posts since last visit" or "View recent posts" etc. options.

Would be a nice feature for forums that have multiple language sections!

I'd like an ignore board feature... however, doing upon topic collapsing would only ber good if it was user disableable... coz some forums have LARGE numbers of LARGE categories in which case people are far more likely to minimise categories that they're still interested in...

There was a ignore mod for yabbSE. maybe this could be converted for SMF?

MOD is good. I think it's a useful idea generally but something worthy of being a MOD

you really think only mod worthy... its been discussed in several feature threads... o well I guess go mod and then we'll see how popular it is

Well... I only say MOD in as far as I can't imagine it getting into 1.0. There will come a time where we have to stop putting in new features and get a public beta out! As such a lot of stuff will end up as MOD's and may make it into future versions. There's nothing wrong with having lots of features as MOD's - just like YABB SE - with the more popular ones being brought into SMF. I for one already have several MOD's queued up ready to go on release which are too niche for SMF but perfect for a MOD:)

I have an old DOS program I want converted to Mac OS X.  Let's do it - it should be easy since I have the DOS program!!! Right?!!?

What's being asked for here, unless my eyes decieve me, is something to ignore specific boards... and I agree with Grudge, this is a mod thing... maybe 1.1, definitely will never make it into 1.0.

ok, mod thing then It just seems like a few people have asked for this... I dunno... MOD till we see if it -is- popular is good with me:)
I'd rather SMF public beta is released at least ... get everything going, then worry about extra extras

I asked somewhere else I think... will the mod center (assuming there will be one) have "no. of downloads"?
