I found in an old post (2011) about 2.0 RC4 that you have to go to forum profile and scroll to user title if you want to set a custom user title. But it's not there because have "extra titles" disabled, because I don't want the users to set a custom title.

I want to
Support I got a user in the global moderators group, but I want to give hem another user title, like for example "special moderator", but only for this user, and I don't want to create a seperate usergroup for him.
So in fact for this user I want to replace the "Global Moderator" title to something else.

In vBulletin I could just set a custom user title. I could also choose if this could be user set, admin set or disabled.
I would like it that only Admins can set a custom user title.

How can i do this?

Well, you are saying. A few different things here...

1 you can not replace the global moderator title without creating a special user group.

2 you can turn on custom titles, but turn off user permissions to edit those titles.

Well... different things..... Depends on the point of view. In vBulletin it's just 1 thing called Custom Usertitle which replaces the existing user title (including Administrator or Global Moderator title, ofcourse it does not replace the users rights).

Quote2 you can turn on custom titles, but turn off user permissions to edit those titles.
Right. But in that case the custom user title is not displayed right below the user name (as stated in the docs, thus replacing the title "Global Moderator") but it's displayed below the Global Moderator title? So an extra line?

Yes. There is not way, in smf, to replace the user's group title  without creating a new user group.period.

Smf is not vb and we may do some things Differently <grin>

Hahaha... I understand... I thought there just might be an option or a mod that could do this, since SMF has so many options. ;)
