Link to version emulation on mod's page

Hello Team!

I have the impression that 1/2 (exaggeration) of the posts regarding mods are due to not knowing about version emulation. This is getting annoying even for me and trust me I feel sorry for the mod authors and the support team.

Actually I see 3 problems:
1. No link to version emulation page on mod page
2. Version emulation button on forum's Package Manager is quite inconspicuous
3. (Maybe it's just me, but...) "Support and comments for this mod" button somehow is inconspicuous too. Maybe I'm dumb or something worse, but frankly back then it took me 2 months before I realized that there is a button on the mod page linking to the respective support thread. Before then I googled the mod name to find it's thread  ::)

So... I would like to propose something like this on the attached image:

Edit: Under version emulation page I mean the wiki page http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_can_I_install_a_mod_that_doesn%27t_work_in_my_SMF_version

Ummmm....   I am unsure how the support topic link could be any more obvious...   It is a big lue button across the top of the mod section.

As for the link to the wiki...  Silly us, for expecting people to do a simple search. ;)

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

I guess it's just me and a few others. For all these years my eyes are accustomed to look mainly within the actual content. Never-mind this is not as important, as is...

Kindred, I know you are the usual naysayer here  ;), but that answer really surprises me, that you are expecting someone new to SMF to search for something he/she most probably do not know it exist.

Here is the post after which I finally decided to rise the question:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=506206.msg3564779#msg3564779
The Modifications and Packages board is full with such posts, posts like "Please update the mod, it's for 2.0.x and does not install on my 2.0.y forum".
Now, look at the ChalkCat's (a Support Team member) answer above - a classical example of (translated) "OMG, I'm fed up with such posts". I can't blame it, it's understandable. But I can't blame braddd either for not knowing about emulation, after all the mod page clearly says "Compatible With: 1.1.16, 2.0.2".

I'm really surprised that you (The Team) do not recognize this as a problem!

Well, at least I tried...

Kindred

yes... there's a problem...   people don't do the most basic searches at all.

The question has been answered at leats once, and often 10 times in nearly every mod support thread. (along with "I got an error in my install - what do I do now?")

And BTW: no...   that was not at all what you "translate" it as, that was chalky being funny...

as for not finding it...
https://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&q=how+do+you+install+a+mod+in+smf
version emulate is mentioned directly in the blurbs of several of those results.

Thanks Kindred.  Yes, exactly, I was trying to be upbeat and amusing instead of just showing a newbie a signpost.  I am sorry if it came across as anything else - it certainly was not what Hristo suggested.  In fact I wish more support questions were as easy for me to answer  ;)

Let's Agree to Disagree :)

Chalkys a blondie so she has an excuse.

:D

Seriously though the Search is there for a reason too as is the Mod Emulate link in my signature.
