Image resize not working for guests

I'm running 2.0.6 using the curve theme.  I have set and image size limit of 500x500, but have found that it is not being applied for guest users.

I made a post as a guest and when I previewed the post, the images were resized correctly, however, once I hit 'Save' and the post was made, the images were no longer resized.

Anyone any ideas what may be happening?

Are you sure it's not resizing them?

If you post an oversized image and preview the post, SMF will automatically apply the appropriate size parameters to the bbcode, and there's no reason why these parameters would be removed before the post is made.

Yes I'm sure.

When I view the post as a guest, the images are not re-sized.  As soon as I login as a registered user (admin) the images are re-sized.

I'm running Mavericks 10.9 on a Mac with the most recent version of Safari, but I just checked on an old Mac I use for a legacy piece of software.  It is running 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3 and exactly the same thing happens.

I'd be happy for you to take a look, but it is a private forum (so eventually, when we all move across from the existing board, this will not be an issue for us, because it will be members only ... but it seems like it could be a bug you may want to know about).  However I'd be quite happy to send you a PM with a link if you want to take a look.

OK ... my fault.  Well ... kind of.

Fancybox 4SMF is causing the problem.

I only have 3 mods installed for viewing images and videos (we're photographers).  I really like the pop-out viewers, like Fancybox.  I installed Highslide BBCode, which would be fine on its own, but it doesn't work for inline images (images using a url and the img tag and hosted elsewhere).

Question ... I've spent 2 days trawling through mods etc.  Do you know if there are any image viewers that would be able to handle attachments and url inline images (hosted elsewhere)  AND ... which are compatible with 2.0.6?

(I'm not a developer and just fudge my way through, which is okay at first, but gets old when a security update breaks my installation and I can't remember what I did and how to fix it.  I like as plain-vanilla as possible. :)  )

Apologies for the false alarm.

You may want to try this one as well: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1605

Despite the fact that it says it's only compatible with 2.0 RC4, it should still work with 2.0.6 as there weren't many changes between RC4 and the final version of SMF 2.0 (and the rest of the changes between 2.0 and 2.0.6 have been bugfixes and/or security things which shouldn't affect that mod either). You may have to "emulate" 2.0 RC4 to get it to install though (see http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Package_Manager#Advanced for more info).
