Hello all,
Since I upgraded to smf 2.0.7, I noticed that my rss feed no longer works.
Please what can I do to resolve this problem
I'll appreciate your response.

margarett

How doesn't it work? What happens?
Can we have a link to try?

When i upgraded to 2.0.7 I discovered that all my feeds to facebook and twitter stopped. the link to the forum is www.oilandgasforum.com.ng/index.php [nofollow]

margarett

I have no idea what you are talking about :P

Do you paste a link in FB and it shows the content of it? Is this what's not working?
Do you have any kind of automatic feeder to FB? Is this what's not working?
...

I'm sorry but you need to be specific about your issue. The better the description, the better the help ;)
I just visited your forum and I see FB buttons on the left and on the middle/top right.

I see no SMF copyright either.......  ::)

Thanks all,
I use a facebook app RSS Graffiti to automatically broadcast latest posts to facebook. i also use feed burner to do same for twitter.
These two operations require that I imput the rss feed for my forum http://www.oilandgasforum.com.ng/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss [nofollow] but this feed only displays a blank page instead of the feeds.
Thats the problem.
I hope I've been able to  describe it as much as possible. If you still need more information, please ask.
Thanks

margarett

You need to check your PHP error log to identify the real cause of the error.

And this is most true. Since you have all other copyright information and even the XHTML, RSS, etc, I assume it wasn't intentional. Nevertheless, you have to restore it in order to keep getting support.

Sorry I do not understand what you mean. How do I get the Php error log out for you?

margarett

You might have a file called error_log in your forum root folder. If not, ask your host for it ;)

Its actually a lot of text

The last two errors are here

[04-Jan-2014 08:41:28] PHP Warning:  Unexpected character in input:  ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home4/oilandg9/public_html/oilandgasforum/cache/data_40e01ad5da2d7393abbeb447b9db983f-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

It does not seem to have any recent records.

margarett

Hum... You can't have a white page without any logs, methinks.

Can you try to empty your forum cache? (not that it should be related, that's almost 3 months old).

From which version did you upgrade?

I upgraded from 2.0.6
I just emptied the cache now.

margarett

Hummm... Can you uninstall the 2.0.7 patch just to try it out?

Ok I uninstalled the 2.0.7 patch and rss is now working
So what do I do if i still want to use 2.0.7?

margarett

Well, that implies a php error that should be logged somewhere.

Now, please restore 2.0.7. I'd like to try other RSS feeds
