info/link block missing for one admin user only (show unread, waiting appr, etc)

I have a forum running version 2.0.7 that works fine- but the primary admin is not seeing the block of info at the upper left that includes:

Hello <user name>
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.
There are 3 members awaiting approval.

The entire block is just missing for him! When I sign in with my admin acct, it appears normally. I have his creds and have signed in as him and looked over all of his profile settings and they look the same as mine. What could possibly cause this?

That means they clicked the ^ arrow normally in the top right corner which hides that information. It'll be a v shape now, get them to click it again and it'll expand.
