I am using (and learning) SMF v. 2.0.7 and try as I might I cannot get the WYSIWYG editor to appear at all.  I have searched this forum, followed up the helpful hints, been into the Themes sections and all the options there for both the theme and the core theme, ticked he WYSIWYG boxes (a puzzling exercise in itself) but they won't stay ticked.

What am I doing wrong ?

Forget the above !!!!!

I generally use the Pale Moon browser "optimised for a 64 bit system" - and that was where the WYSIWYG editor did not show up.  On my old Toshiba Satellite running Linux Mint it works OK, and on this laptop switching from Pale Moon to IE also shows it working OK.

So, it is a browser thing, but a rather surprising one, I feel.

Ho Hum.

Illori

why do you want to use it? it is really buggy and best to be left disabled.

Hi and welcome to SMF!

First things first, please upgrade your forum to the new SMF 2.0.8 ;)

After that did you check that this box Administration Center » Posts and Topics » Post Settings » Disable WYSIWYG editor is unchecked?
Also in your own profile from "Look and layout" this checkbox (Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default.) is checked and that you saved after checking it? :)

Tip: as Illori already said it's indeed buggy and I have disabled it completely myself.

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.
