Chat Box for SMF

Hello Friends,

Which is the best chat box for SMF? I am currently using SA CHAT, which I am not really liking much. Is there any chat that we can have like a group chat or something, cuz in SA CHAT there is just personal chats and not group chat.

Something that people can have personal chat and group chat too as they do in regular forms.

I don't think I've ever seen one that actually explicitly does both 1:1 chat and group chat, partly because it generally interferes with the actual business of posting in a forum and partly because it hammers the server to have both (and before anyone says 'but Facebook does it', Facebook operates a multi-million dollar data-centre, rather than a $2.99/month account on a server somewhere)

I have seen this on one of the sites that was a comics community......but ok....is there anything that is better than SA CHAT or something little more enhanced?

Even let's say if it has either one of the function, 1:1 or Group chat? I do prefer Group Chat but anything better than SA if you can suggest?

Depends on your definition of 'better'. I have a shoutbox that's better than SA Chat - for my specific needs. My specific needs are such that it cannot possibly work on your site since it relies on the site specific code I have and I wrote it myself. My point is that trying to answer such generic questions is never going to work out that well.

Pretty much any of the others on offer would work better for group chat than SA Chat would because it wasn't really designed for group chat.

This still doesn't address the point I made that it's still going to limit the posting to the actual forum; take the shoutbox I mentioned. It keeps the entire log of ever, and over the past 5 years, almost half a million messages are stored in it. As compared to barely 3,000 forum posts in the same amount of time.
