Hey there!

Currently I have a user who can not see any boards on the index. If they use their bookmarks, they can access and post in the boards, and the forum search shows all of the boards they should have access to (and none that they shouldn't), but the index page just says

instead of

Other users in his group can see everything. Moving him to different groups (even admin) did not work. Changing themes for him didn't work. Was hoping he just minimized the board index, but that wasn't the case. The boards aren't even popping up in HTML.

I tried searching for missing boards on index, and variations on that, but couldn't find my issue. smf 2.0.6

Anyone see something like this?

Hi and welcome to sm.org ;)

If it's just a single user, the first thing I'd suggest is for him to create a new user (temporary) and check.
It can't be related to permissions because, if it was, he wouldn't see any content (not via bookmarks, not via search).

Also, you should urgently upgrade your forum, as you are several versions behind (some of them important security fixes)

did you ask the user what URL they are going to? maybe there is something added to the URL that should not be there and causing the issue.

Yeah it is single user, I had him jump on a new account and he could see everything. But he'd like to keep his account with its 10 year post history, and it is linked in our CMS to his other work.
We are in the process of updating, but I know when we did it last, it broke some stuff on the CMS end, so we are working on updating that at the same time. It's kind of a mess.

I was hoping it was something simple like "oh you just gotta do blahblah" but I'm wondering if it is linked to a DB error maybe? I've had a few user accounts where the issue was when the CMS updated a DB entry it shouldn't have and the user had all kinds of ridiculous problems. But if it doesn't seem like it is a standard smf issue, I'm thinking it could be an issue somewhere in our spaghetti code.

I logged into his account and saw it first hand. Just the default forum index. It is a really weird bug haha. But like I said above, it miiiiiight be a bug on our end not smf. I guess it is time to start looking at code :/

Thanks for looking at my post and replying!
