About My Site:

It is a developer's hub for making apps, ROMs, and for further customizing and enriching smartphones, whether it's Android, Windows, Symbian, Bada or any mobile operating system. Basically, it is aimed at customizing gadgets as per one's own convenience. It also has discussion boards for tablets, smartwatches, computers, laptops etc. My site had taken up 2 major projects: AndroBada525 (in order to port Android on a Samsung phones running Bada, a mobile operating system, and make custom ROMs for Bada phones) and The WhatsApp Theory (to make WhatsApp compatible on the phones, which are not currently supported by WhatsApp). I would say that Bada was the biggest reason why my forum was started and when Bada lost it's popularity, my forum started going down. In order to revive it, I took a lot of steps which I have listed below:

I introduced a blog (hosted on Blogger: http://androguider.co.nr). It is a tech blog. It was started in order to encourage user participation, which I proposed would be written by my site's community members. I made a board titled "Users Blogs" to enable the users to write their articles and on the basis of voting, the articles with the highest number of votes will make it to the blog.

I introduced boards for Android, Windows phone, smartwatches, tablets and many other bards that one can think a forum associated with tech should have. (View them at: http://theteamk.x10.mx/index.php?action=forum)

If you want to view a detailed description of my site, check out the "About Us" page of  my forum at:

App: I also have an app for my forum. I had submitted the app to only certain stores, the most popular of them being CNET. As per my rough calculations, the app has approximately a 1000 downloads. I could not submit it to the Google Play Store because of lack of funds. (The most recent version of the app: http://theteamk.x10.mx/index.php?topic=554.0)

Mobile Friendly: I have tried to make the site as mobile friendly as possible. I am using responsive themes like Reseller and Redsy.

Social Login & Chat: In another bid to attract users, I have tried to simplify the registration process by using the Oneall Social Plugin on my forum. In order to enable user interaction, I installed the "SA Chat" mod too. My site also has a FB page and a twitter handle.

Some Statistics: At the time of posting, my site had 2398 Posts in 422 Topics by 1246 Members, out of which I have made 791 posts. In 2013, my forum had 175013 page views. In 2014, the number of views declined to 155482 and in 2015, my forum has had only 83282 views. (More statistics at http://theteamk.x10.mx/index.php?action=stats)

Mods: I am currently using about 21 mods. Some of them include ENotify (for notifications), Knowledge Base, Optimus Brave, Simple Portal, Add Facebook Like, Tweet, and Google +1 and Simple Audio Video Embedder. I have also used a lot of SEO mods to enrich my presence at the search engines. My site also has a robots.txt and a sitemap.

Problems: The major problem is that about 75% of my users have not opened their account since the last 6 months. Most of them just make an account to download stuff and don't ever come back again. Some of them just make a single post and are never seen again.

Questions: What do you think about my site? How do you think I can improve it? What should I do to bring back the lost users who have an account on my forum, but have not opened it since months? How do I encourage user participation?

Dear Krittin,

First of all, great idea. I love this kind of website.
Second, you're problem is common : every website proposing software or any kind of download apps has more than half of registered member only downloaders. They upload/create anything.
Third, you're website is quite good but i'm sure you can do it better. I think (and it's my opinion) that you have to match color better and the column (they must be all at the same level).
Once this is fixed, i think the website can be more beautiful :D

Good luck dude, and continue with this great idea.

Best Regards

Thanks for the kind words. I am trying hard. I recently made some more changes. The Android app has been updated and we are planning to launch it soon on the Play Store.

Further feedbacks will be highly acknowledged.

Best Regards
Krittin

The site looks good. I might point one thing out though. The way your boards are ordered. How you have the general catagory at the top and the other more important catagories waaay down below everything else. The more important catagories should be up top were it is easy for people to get to them and there is less scrolling for them. I hope I said all that right and it made sense to you. It's a good lookin site though. I like the host. I have a server there.
