I would like to block emails from gmail but how do I do this? (I want it so that when a user is registering and put in a gmail address it asks them to put in a different email, so they aren't confused).

Thanks.

I'm sure that's been covered on the forum before now, about how to block entire domains like that in email addresses. A search on 'ban gmail' will no doubt find it.

Well in the Ban List I've added '@gmail.com' and used a few mods but I can still register with a gmail email. Or do I have to add '*@gmail.com' in the ban list?

Yeah I tried that mod and it makes no difference.

What SMF version are you running? Always helps to add it.

Take note on how the Restrict Email Providers mod is not compatible with 1.1.11 yet.

Either contact the mod author, or try doing the edits manually.

Doesn't work with SMF 1.1.21.  :-[ It insatlls nicely, but "banned" email domains still can register.

Any help?

Illori

if you are running SMF 1.1.* you should plan to upgrade to SMF 2.0 ASAP. SMF 1.1 does not work with more recent versions of PHP and is no longer receiving security patches.
