Mod problem need some advise

I have used this mod before in the previous versions but in the last few years there has been a problem with it.

Everything works as it should and the members love it but for some reason with 2.09 til now of SMF it refuses to allow them to edit their profile signatures.

When the go to their profiles, they can see the area that holds their information and can change the information in the box BUT that is all. They click to submit it and the signature does not change. It keeps the old stuff without changes.

Before I am told to go to its support thread I will tell you that I have done that, I even linked my other question about it to no avail.

The one that took it over has not responded to it since 2012 when the former person worked on it (BryanD). Is there anyone else that is keeping this up to date or working on it?

I am sure there are many folks that would like this mod back and if I knew what I was doing with code (aside from copy/paste what I am told to change) I would try to find out why it does this.

Is there anyone out there that can give me a clue what I need to look at or do?

unfortunately, we don't provide support for mods. that is what the support threads for each mod are for... and support for the mod is the responsibility of the mod author...


I will move this to Coding instead of support, since this is looking for help to recode an existing mod and not support of SMF.

I would greatly appreciate that, since it has been eons since there was a response in its thread and Bryan does not manage it anymore. I thought someone else had taken over supporting it.

If I can get help to find a solution to using this mod and not having to uninstall it in order to change information in ones account that would be helpful.

When it is installed it doesn't let changes occur.

nope, I have since removed it---after my last post to the support thread in 2015, when it was installed there were no error messages in either admin/logs nor server error file or in c-panel

It works flawlessly to add the signature but then when say a month (or when the member wants to change siggie) it looks like it works but it does not  actually change it when saved and sometimes it interferes with the rest of the members account....like email change but not always.

I would try to go in as admin and change the signature for them to no avail. I would have to uninstall it and then the buttons go away, the coding would still be in there for them to just change a link or text...but many do not know what the bbc code is and tended to mess it up then I would go fix for them...LOL

The mod made it uch easier for them to add an image or text...that is the biggie part they liked. Would have like to have color change for text too.
