Orstio or Kindred Can you refresh my brain or point me into the right direction. I cannot remember how to link DB's in phpmyadmin. I am using 2 seperate DB's for joomla and smf. Its been a while since I did a full install with joomla and smf. I do not remember what to search for either as I tried searching for linking db's and a few others.

Thanks in advance

Not ever one uses cpanel and I figured it out via phpmyadmin. I am using ispconfig for my cp that doesnt have the feature like they do in other CP's. All I had to do in phpmyadmin allow user1 have all privs to db2 and user2 have access to db1. all seems to be working. The link you provided does have some knowledgable info. Thanks for the response though

Now you have to tell me how you did it in phpmyadmin, cause I don't see such option.

Here is an image of what it looks like. You have to do it as the root user of your myphpadmin/mysql. If you are using a hosting company then you might not have access to the privlages section as it show all your users. once you select the user you can grant privs to the db you want or need

this , of course, requires you to have ROOT access...    so people on a shared host would probably not be able to do it.

this is also true. So they would have to have the hosting do the foot work.
