what these little things do ?

hi, I was wondering - what do this box and mini icon do ? they don't appear on this page.

I can click on the check box and a little tick comes up and the mini icon does nothing.

what are they for, please ?

the box is for quick moderation
the other icon below it is the quick edit icon.

OK but how do I use them ?

the quick edit icon doesn't do anything and nor does ticking the box.

the top of the page says Loading... but doesn't progress further.

In a non-modified forum, you can select them and at the bottom of the page, you get extra menu items to split them or delete them, assuming you have such permissions.

Quick edit is a separate thing where you get an inline editor and is unrelated to the tickboxes.

On a heavily-modified forum, where there's a ton of JavaScript and with a theme that has a lot of stuff in it, all bets are off.

OK thanks. I don't use them and the moderators just edit the posts.

I just went to my spare near-vanilla site and quick moderation works.

don't need them any way.
