Hello. There were problems when transferring to a new hosting.

1) A banner at the top of the forum with the inscription - "! Warning about low performance. The caching directory is not writable - this will significantly reduce the performance of the forum."

2) In the all posts there is an inscription about the breakdown of the mod "Say Thanks", which is why the content of the posts stopped being shown.

Please help fix problems with cache and mod "Say Thanks" on new hosting. Version SMF - 2.0.17.

1) Permission issue, or file ownership issue. Make sure the cache folder and contents in it are writable to PHP.

2) If you do not have very many mods installed, I'd suggest doing a large upgrade. This will clean up your files, get you to a fully working state, AND you get up to date at the same time. It is up to you, if you want to stick with 2.0 and go to 2.0.19 or if you want to jump to 2.1 directly - But considering that 2.0 doesn't really support modern PHP versions, I would go for 2.1.4 myself at this point.

I have a lot of mods and all sorts of original settings installed, I would like to stay on version 2.0.17 for as long as possible.

Well, even if you don't want to do a large upgrade - I would highly recommend patch updates to 2.0.19 in any case.
But if a removed mod has left something behind, you are likely going to need to manually clean up after it by editing the files the mod has altered.

That may be so but you're taking a huge security risk by not updating or patching as Lex said. I know it would be a pain to have to go through and make sure everything is as you want it after updating but imo the security fixes far outweigh that.

Also, 2.0.17 doesn't even run on modern versions of php

If you are unwilling to upgrade to the latest current version, can you consider to upgrade to 2.0.19 at least, which is the stable version of the 2.0.x branch?

That being said, those mods that you have installed, did you download them from here or are they custom made? If the former, a lot of the 2.0.x mods have been upgraded to be compatible with the 2.1.x branch as well.

All mods are official, downloaded from this site. More than 40 mods. There are some pretty old mods. There is also a connection with the WIKI module. I spent a very long time and carefully setting up the forum. When updating, some mods may definitely stop working. Therefore, I want to transfer the forum in its current form 2.0.17. I'm still on the old hosting, I encountered problems when trying to transfer, now I will make a second attempt to move the site to another hosting.

What happened to the "Say Thanks" mod, why did it break when transferred to a new hosting? And if you temporarily delete it and then reinstall it, will the "thank you" already added to the posts disappear?

"There is an issue with the transfer; it doesn't transfer everything. Please check how your directories are named now, whether it remains as 'home' or if it now shows as 'home2.' If your theme is damaged, also check this part in 'forum appearance': 'Theme directory.'

If your "default" is set to 'home2,' set your primary one to 'home2' as well."
