i don't get notification emails anymore

I'm on 2.0.17. I used to get email notifications for topics but not anymore.
I did not change anything in the settings as far as i know.
Is there any way to debug this?
Can i let the forum send me a test mail somehow so that i know it can reach me?

Is it just you that's not getting them or other members of your forum also not getting them

Problem was thunderbird, somehow messed up some pop3 settings while updating.
