İndex title description

hi guys ı have just uploaded  my theme but cant remove index  from the title  how do ı change it ?

also how do ı add a description?

A question I always wanted to ask: Is there a specific reason for the "index" suffix? Does it have any "function" or is it purely aesthetical?

In the description?  It lets search engines and humans know that page is the main index
