smf_sessions is marked as crashed

Hello - for some reason, after upgrading to 2.1.3 (not blaming the upgrade), I keep getting:
"Table './bluevmgc_chickendinnergaming/smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired"

I've repaired this twice in 2-3 days now.

Error log wise, I clear it out after I fix the issues (repair the database smf_sessions table).  When it happens again, the 1st error that pops up is the crash error. 
2nd error - 2: Unknown: Cannot call session save handler in a recursive manner
3rd error - 2: Trying to access array offset on value of type null

After that, the errors mostly repeat #1 and #3.  Has anyone else ran into this?  Have a permanent fix?   Any chance this could be due to nefarious activity?

#1 is usually a hosting issue.
You can try turning off "Use database driven sessions" under server settings -> cookies and sessions
