SMF 2.0.19
I am the admin and I am the only one that approves new members manually.

I have 4 Global moderators and no regular moderators

How can I turn off email notifications on all Global moderators when a new member joins?
I have a look at potential members IP's and spam data base info before approving

I have looked all over the admin menus but can't find a way to do this.

If it is not possible, then can I mod one of the .php files to do that?
Thanks

Basically, if they are allowed to approve members/deletions, they are included in the notifications. So remove the relevant permissions from them if they don't need them.

... and, before you ask further -- modding the file would be complicated as well.

In your case, the easiest thing to do would be to set up a second group (maybe, "mostly global moderators") and don't give them the admin/manage members permission

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

The globals need to be able to move post, edit them or delete them if needed.
They don't need to do anything regarding approving new members

Is there a way to set that up?

Steve

Couldn't you just remove the ability to admin the forum and database from your global mod permissions as Lex said?

Show me where to do that in 2.0.19
If that was possible, Kindred probably would have mentioned that?

They still need to be able to moderate post

It's exactly the same thing as Kindred said, though. You don't have to give out full admin to give out approve posts, delete topics etc.

Thanks, but I don't understand what he said above

I have 4 global mods and all should be set up the same way
Why do I have to set up another group of global mods?

I am looking at Global mod permissions and nothing is checked currently
Is this what you are talking about?
